SELF-GUIDED PRACTICE
How to practice
- Choose a safe, quiet path where you can walk slowly without needing to avoid obstacles.
- Stand still first and feel both feet, posture, balance, and the intention to begin.
- Walk slower than usual, noticing lifting, moving, placing, and shifting weight.
- Feel the heel, sole, ball of the foot, and toes as each foot meets the ground.
- Keep the eyes open with a soft gaze ahead so you remain oriented and safe.
- When the mind moves to the destination or next task, return to the physical sensations of the next step.
- At the end of the path, pause, feel the whole body standing, turn carefully, and continue.
- Finish by standing still for a few breaths and noticing the effect of movement on the body.
Stay comfortable. You can stop at any time or return to your natural breath.
