SELF-GUIDED PRACTICE
How to practice
- Sit comfortably and choose a short neutral word or phrase that does not create pressure.
- Let the phrase be simple, such as calm, here, I am here, or one steady word of your choice.
- Repeat it silently in the mind at an easy rhythm, either with the breath or independent of it.
- Keep the mental tone gentle and clear, like speaking quietly to yourself.
- When thoughts take over, notice the break and begin the phrase again without criticism.
- If the words become mechanical, slow down and feel one breath or body contact point before continuing.
- Stay with the same phrase for the whole session so the mind has one stable track.
- End by letting the phrase fade and resting for a few natural breaths.
Stay comfortable. You can stop at any time or return to your natural breath.
